Sonorus - Magically amplifies the caster's voice, allowing him to be heard over a great distance, or over the roar of a crowd - essentially a magical microphone.

Apparition - an obvious choice, of course)

Extra Curricular:

Ghoul Studies - Ghosts, man!)

Muggle Music - Thought it would help her keep up with the new muggle trends that she's missing out on during the school year)

Personality:

[sociable] [funny] [sincere] [energetic] [spontaneous] [curious] [stubborn] [loud] [annoying]

Personality wise, Ella could be described in just a few simple words. What you see is what you get, with all her good traits and her bad ones. She is a very stubborn person, often having a hard time accepting other’s opinions if they don’t match hers. In the end though, after making sure there’s no way she is right, she will admit “defeat”. However, if she is right and she knows it but others won’t admit it, she won’t give up until she proves her point. At the same time, is she has wronged someone (and realizes it), she will be the first to apologize and try to make amends. At times she would even apologize even if it is not her fault, just to mend her relationship with the person she had an argument with. She can't and won't hold grudges against anybody and expects the others to do exactly the same.

She is very curious by nature and she will try to learn anything she can on the subjects she is interested in. You will be amazed how much trivia she has on things like dragons and cartoon shows. This might have compensated for her average intelligence... if she wasn't so specific about the things she studies. If she is not interested in something, you will be able to tell (low grades in certain subjects, lack of basic knowledge on things like where babies come from).

Ella is also very honest. There was no need for her to lie, as whenever she did something wrong, her family could tell from the very first second. And they didn’t even have to do something about it, since little Ella would apologize then go sit nicely on the sofa for a while. That system still works, except that throughout the years she learned how to fix things on her own. If the object/situation can still be saved, she will apologize but instead of sitting quietly somewhere, she goes back to doing whatever she was doing before all this.

Ella loves attention and is very obvious about it. She is actually very obvious in everything she does: reactions, feelings of any kind she has for those around her, opinions, everything. She’ll readily give you her opinion even though nobody asked for it. And if you decide to ignore her, she will just talk louder and louder until you give up and listen. She claims that she needs attention like she needs water, but the truth is, no matter how important attention is to her, she would never beg for it. If she gets it, that’s great, and if she doesn’t, that sucks, but hey, there are a lot of people at Hogwarts!

She makes friends easily, most of the time being the one with the initiative. She doesn’t like being alone for long periods of time, so she will try to get people to do things with her, from eating lunch together, to studying and listen to her talk. And if EVERYBODY she knows is busy, then she will go and meet new people. And that happens pretty often. But that's great because it means she start telling old jokes again, not being afraid they've been heard before.

Family:

Marina Keitch – mom – wizard, muggle born, potioneer (Slytherin)

Zachary Keitch – dad – wizard, half blood, herbologist (Hufflepuff)

William Casper Keitch – older brother - wizard, half blood, ??? (just graduated,Gryffindor)

Pet:

Name: Potato
Species:  Common Raven (Corvus Corax)
Gender: Male
Personality: Potato is extremely loyal, mature (for a bird-) and well... his intelligence surpasses his owners’. And if it weren’t for the name, people with actually take him seriously. He’s a people’s bird so he tries to stick around Ella most of the time, or at least around her friends, looking after everyone.

Potato is also very playful, engaging, just like any other raven, in all sorts of games with Ella, other birds and animals and anybody willing to play really. He loves rolling around in the snow.

He sits on peoples' heads even though he’s pretty heavy. Of course, if you tell him to get off, he’ll do it in a second. Unless you’re Ella, then he’s gonna be there for a while.

The jewel around his neck is made of solid gold, a gift from Ella when she entered school. At the time, they had been together for about 3 years. The Keitch family found Potato as a baby bird in the back garden. When he was still very young, he used to steal and hide shiny objects, so afraid that Potato might try and steal things from the other kids at school, Ella used all her money and bought him the accessory. Now every time Potato feels like taking something shiny, he flies to the nearest mirror/shiny surface and admires his accessory for a couple of seconds.

Potato’s name comes from Ella’s extreme love for the vegetable with the same name. Just before discovering Potato the raven, whenever she was sad, Ella would go find herself the biggest potato in the kitchen and then she would go somewhere to sulk, putting all her frustration into that potato, then talking it back like nothing happened. After she discovered the raven, at least in the beginning, she would still take vegetables from the kitchen, but this time, Potato followed her everywhere. And after a while, since she couldn’t get rid of the bird even if she tried, Potato became some sort of sadness relief and confessor to her, that’s why everybody said that the bird was Ella’s new "potato". And the name stuck.

Background:

Ella comes from a small family of four. Both her parents and her older brother (by 3 years) are gifted wizards. Ever since they got married, and until Ella was about 7, Marina and Zachary Keitch, together with their two children, lived in a small, white house somewhere on the East of England. Both their family and Zachary’s brother with his family, wizards as well, lived in a village consisting in a small community of magically gifted people. Ella’s mother worked as a potioneer and her father as a herbologist, so they had an perfectly ordinary life. For a wizard, of course. There was a great contrast between her dads’ peaceful ways and hippy like mentality and her mothers’ restless and more aggressive nature, but the energy in the house was always a positive one and seeing as both her parents are very active people, it all worked out great. The two very different attitudes towards life didn’t exclude one another, but actually complemented each other, so Ella and Casper were fortunate to grow in an environment which presented them from the start with open mindedness and encouraged them to see the world in greys and colors, not only black and white.

All their summers were spent back and forth between their grandparents homes. All of them, with the exception of their dad's father, are muggles, so it was a great opportunity for the children to get to know the less magical side of life. This also allowed Zach and Marina to travel around the world, be it for research or , more often, pleasure. When Ella turned 5, her parents had just come back from a trip around Europe and brought her a huge (at that time), red plush dragon which she still has and uses as a pillow. They told her the most amazing stories about dragons and other amazing creatures. Ella was so fascinated by the subject that for a while, she even put her toy broom aside and spent more time with her parents, asking them to tell her more about those great big lizards! She soon realized that she had a dream now. Nevermind Quidditch or becoming a ballerina. She wanted to be a dragon! She actually wished every year on her birthday to become one, but it didn't happen...

And then, the year when she turned 7 and her brother 10, their mother' mom died, their most beloved granny. The whole family decided to move in with grandpa, not wanting to leave him alone, especially in those times of suffering. So they said goodbye to their small village and moved to a slightly bigger one. Zach kept doing his job as a herbologist but Marina was faced with a sudden career change as she thought that exploding cauldrons would attract unnecessary attention. So she got a job as an editor at the local newspaper.

Before receiving their letter from Hogwarts, both Ella and her brother attended muggle schools. Their parents thought it would be a great opportunity for them to work on their social skills and learn that there is no big difference (other than magic) between them and other children. And they made great friends, most of which they still keep in contact with, even though they believe that the Keitch siblings are attending a school somewhere in Europe.

As a former Slytherin and a former Hufflepuff, Marina and Zachary were very surprised to learn that Casper was sorted into Gryffindor, especially considering his personality. But the biggest surprise was Ella! Nobody thought she'd be proudly wearing the red and golden colors of Gryffindor! But she could have worn the colors of any house, her parents would still be very proud of her. And they will be even prouder if she manages to finish school without making half of it explode.

School is even better now that she has a wand and the possibility to meet more children like her! She found it hard to adapt in the first semester, forgetting where the classrooms were or learning how to write with a quill. Fortunately, her brother was there to help her. Later on, she made quite a few friends and the time seemed to pass faster. This fourth year is going to be great for Ella if she manages to get over the fact that she is still not in the Quidditch team and if she realizes she should be studying for her O.W.Ls already.

The 4th year was something that passed too quickly in Ella’s opinion. She managed to make a few friends here and there and they all mean a lot to her, even though they are not that close. Her brother graduated as well so now she can basically do anything she wants (not that she was holding back before). She brought her skateboard and her ukulele and is now ready for a new year! She might even try getting on the Quidditch team again, who knows? Considering she has to get ready for all this year’s exams… not much will change actually

Another year went by and Ella is unsure whether it seemed so short because she was busy studying for her O.W.L.s or because she spent most of it worrying about her brother. Either way, this was not exactly a fun year so she'd rather not think about it so much. The young gryffindor hid in the library for most of the school year--which payed off because she got amazing grades in all the exams she needed. Her dream of becoming a dragonologist is starting to take shape. Now, after the longest summer of her life, she is ready to meet new people, make more friends, burn more books. By accident, of course, things like that happen all the time-

Fun Facts:

At the end of her 4th year, and the main reason why she has been absent from so many events, is that she got a really nasty cold then managed to somehow fall into the lake, get saved by a mysterious slytherin boy (??) and enjoyed the rest of the year being kept safe (more like hidden) by her brother. She’s hoping this year won’t be wasted on hospital beds and in the Gryffindor’s common room.

She tried once to lie, just out of curiosity, seeing as her brother did it so easily, but she couldn’t. Her face got all red and she started stuttering, which is highly unusual for her. So she gave up and never tried doing it again.

Its often hard for her to consume all her energy, so she would go run around the school grounds or climb trees/walls/tall people, or even do some judo training, a sport for which her parents signed her up. (She initially wanted to go to boxing classes but her parents knew that would not be a very good idea, so they chose a sport where she couldn't get hurt. Too much)

Don’t be fooled by her medium build and skinny legs and arms. She’s quick and agile, making up for the lack of actual strength. We could consider it a bonus the fact that she has pretty powerful kicks. Which she wont use unless she reaaaally needs to. But let’s be honest. No matter how strong she would be, the first instinct would still be to take out her wand and fight through magical means. And instinct is one of the things she values the most. Her decisions are actually based on 20 % common sense and the rest of 80% on instinct. She is lucky though, her instinct is pretty good and kept her out of trouble so far (huge trouble at least)

Huge fan of Quidditch and talented with a broom, promised not to leave Hogwarts until she becomes a chaser for her houses' team.

She's interested in duelling and she practices at home during summer holidays, using a twig instead of her wand. Never been in an actual duel before though.

She is currently focused on becoming a dragonologist or a quidditch player and dreams to participate in the Annual Broom Race at least once in her lifetime.

A-lot-more-fun facts:

She had no real interest in boys until she was 13, but she has been hitting on guys ever since she came to Hogwarts. The only reason why she's doing it is to make them uncomfortable because it's funny most of the time. She will only do it a couple of times to each boy she meets and then she'll go back to acting like the tomboy she really is. She doesn't even know what most of her pick-up lines mean, she uses the ones his dad tells her mom as a joke.

She says she can't trust two types of people: people who don’t eat vegetables and people who don’t name their wands.

Her wand is called Jimmy and she talks to it to "prepare it mentally" for new spells.

She also talks a lot during uncomfortable situations like dancing

She doesn’t like dancing and the fact that she sucks at it doesn’t encourage her at all (her brother tried teaching her a few times but she once somehow managed to trip him and they both fell, each getting a couple of bruises.) Ella still thinks dancing is more probable to kill you than a tornado.

Catch phrases: I HOPE YOU FALL OFF YOUR BROOM!– censored version (Uncensored version: I HOPE YOU PEE YOURSELF AND SLIP OFF YOUR BROOM!) Fortunately, she only uses the censored one these days and she uses it rarely, when she is really mad. And yes, it doesn’t make any sense.

Point of view on using magic: "Magic is like chocolate. You see…if I were to eat only chocolate every time I felt hungry, I would start by getting bored of it, growing tired of it and eventually hating it with all my heart. It goes the same with magic. Why would I use my wand to fix a broken vase when there is glue? "
