Strengths:

His height makes him a fierce opponent considering his position (that of a middle blocker). After years of playing volleyball on the highschool’s team and since not many of the team members have changed so far, he managed to get familiar to everybody’s way of playing to which he can now easily adapt. The experience speaks for itself as his game sense and technique are what set him above the rest. He is a rather balanced player who works well with his team mates as long as they’re patient with him.

Weaknesses:

The fact that he is a “balanced player” basically translates as “good in theory at all but doesn’t excel in anything” He can do a bit of everything but that means his stamina doesnt allow him to last during a game for too long, and his speed is what keeps him in place for most of the time. Whenever he has a confused or rather, concerned look on his face, its because he knows he cannot reach the ball in time and he’s still debating whether he should try or not. He tends to overthink every single move so at times he might be caught by surprise by someone faster than him (which is basically everybody). He doesnt usually tie his hair and because it covers his left eye entirely, he has to take a second every few minutes to pull it away from his face and take a better look at the court, wasting precious game time

Personality:

Yuuto is a teenager of few words. Some blame it on the fact that he is shy, which is a fact well known by everybody. But the reality is that he simply does not speak unless he has something very important to say. However, he will never shy away from encouraging and praising his fellow team mates as well as their opponents. He believes in playing fair and giving it your best at all times, which determines him to work hard for everything in his life. A lot of the times he ends overworking himself even though his results do not get better than that. Yuuto forgets he is only one person so he’ll try to assume a lot of responsibilities which even though he makes sure they are performed to perfection, they will exhaust him. He is not a very ambitious person as “ambition is something that perverts the mind”, but he will do a lot of things to make his family, friends and even teachers happy.  He is prone to anxiety as he worries about every little detail.

Biography:

Yuuto comes from a quite big family of 7. Coming from a long line of actors, his father, who was way too shy for such a career, decided upon becoming a mangaka instead. This is how he met his future wife as well, wife who became his editor when he first started out and has been by his side ever since. They had 5 wonderful children together, Yuu being the second oldest. And because his older sister is sooo unreliable, they had to depend on him to look after the younger siblings. Which he was more than happy to do since he is very shy and prefers spending his time with his family rather than meeting new people.

He spent most of his childhood’s summers acting as a an older brother/mommy and taking care of both his brothers and sisters and their little buddies ,since everybody in the small neighborhood trusted Yuu and pretty much helped him open an improvised day care. He always refused the money though as it was his pleasure to help all those busy parents.

But Yuu was very busy himself, considering he had to look after the kids, take care of the chores when his parents were too busy (and that happened on a daily basis) and during school months he had to take part of various clubs as well. He enjoyed having an active life though so during middleschool he ran for the track and field club. Because he had always been very tall for his age, all the sports clubs had and eye on him, but Yuu always put his studies on the first place so he didn’t have time to officially join too many of them. That didn’t stop him to help out from time to time and fill in for missing members.

All these activities managed only to feed Yuu’s anxiety problem and insecurities when it came to interacting with others, no matter how well liked he was by his peers. Let’s say the situation changed, but only a tiny bit once he started attending the local highschool. He traded the track and field club for the volleyball one because he felt it was finally time for him to make some close friends. Which still proved to be hard, but not impossible. He’s been a member ever since his first year and he loves every second of it. Now that he’s in the last year, he hoped to keep his grades up and go to medical school, but he also wants to be part of the team so will try to juggle with both at the same time, like he always does.

Likes:

Reading and studying and doing school work, it relaxes him greatly

Having some time for himself every day, even half an hour is enough

Taking care of younger people.From kouhais to his 5 year old sister, he looks after everybody.

Cartoons. Kids cartoons. He loves to watch them in the morning while eating cereal.

Random people recognizing him on the street because of the pictures he appeared in

Loud music and nightlife, it’s scary. Some classmates tried dragging him to a concert in a club and he fainted while waiting in line to get inside. Same thing happened when he was forced to join a group date

Being forced to be sociable.

Cold nights

Hearing others talk about indecent things in public. Or private. Anywhere really, please dont talk to him about relationships either he will get really uncomfortable.

Dating is not his thing, or at least he hasn’t found the right person yet. Not that he’s looking. Most probably demisexual (am I cool now that I mentioned his sexuality)

Opponents usually underestimate him because he’s shy when surrounded by big groups of people and he turns into a tiny, blushing fairy.

You can tell his anxiety is at its worst when he is starting to feel physically sick as well. He looks pale, his mouth is dry, his knees are shaking and he feels like he is about to throw up. When he was a child, this is used to happen before every important exam no matter how well prepared he was.

Disappointing is his greatest fear. Being told he disappointed someone is enough to send him into a coma.

Kids love him, he’s everybody’s reliable nii-chan. Maybe its because he grew up in a houshold with lots of kids (one older sister and 4 youngers sisters and brothers) and he basically had to look after everyone. He never saw it as a chore though as he loves children as well. His dream, actually, is to become a nurse and work for an elementary school. Because kids are definitely less scary than adults. Or teenagers. Ugh, teenagers

When he’s not taking care of volleyball activities, he helps out at the school library and meditates students who are not doing very well in subjects like math, japanese, english, even history. But if you need help with any other subject, just ask, he’ll be more than happy to help. JUST PLS dont ask him for help with anatomy he will faint of embarrassement.

At his sister’s and cousin’s (Mitsuru) suggestion, he decided to give modelling a chance, to help out his parents with some extra money. He hates it though so he rarely does it but since he is tall and not that bad looking, he managed to book a few photoshoots. Yuu appeared in a couple of fashion and magazines for teenagers but if anybody asks about it, he will deny everything and hide somewhere.

This is also the reason why he hides his face using his long bangs, he doesn’t want the girls or anybody really, to realize he was once on the covers of silly magazine.

He knows how to cook, and he makes cute lil bentos for his younger siblings every morning

Has been part of the track and field club all throughout middle school but as soon as he entered highschool, he decided to give volleyball a try. He’s been in the club from his first week as a Ist year and thinks that now that he’s a senpai, it’s hisduty to look after the kouhais. He will even try to become the captain! Or die (of anxiety) trying.

His older sister who is now 21 has the same type of personality as his cousin, that is why he knows how to deal with him better than most. Something he would rather avoid but can’t because family is important. And hey, Mitsu is not that bad afterall! He keeps telling himself that every time he comes to visit….

Cars scare him.
